Castle Extension Project by Christian Pottgiesser France Architect

This castle extension project was part of a residential Orangery in eighteenth-century castle in Yvelines, France. Christian Pottgiesser, France Architect doing their god architecture job by designing beautiful castle extension concept including five towers linked by a concrete cover and forming terraces between them for family sharing area. Articulation and dynamic tower positioning are clear as roof terraces, the towers are clad in white cement and framed by pine boards, while a stone wall surrounding the floor. The castle extension project purpose basically wants to give a benefit from common areas for the whole family by creating private apartments for each family member.
The castle base is designed as a rock that ensures a smooth transition with the old, the dry stone walls called Cadaques paired with large ports are drilled for the complete picture of rust-colored steel. Castle roofs accessible by small hills on the west side, is planted with perennials and guarantee an abundance of bamboo stuck in the dark ocher earth. Rough concrete wall was designed with a mixture of white cement and aggregates of light gray box, using pine boards nailed together, with different widths that preserved traces of native material. The castle extension project opens a great view of the beautiful scenery inside to the castle interior.
