Tsunami or known as wave train is a big wave or a series of big waves that it’s referred to as a tidal wave. Tsunami wave can be caused by several big disturbances in the Ocean or other body of water, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, meteorites or landslips. Tsunami wave often happen in country or region in “ring of fire” which the seismic regions surrounding the Pacific Ocean. A few times ago Japan was hit by horrible earthquake for 8.9 Richter scale. Japan notably located in “ring of fire” regions so that’s was potentially hit by earthquake. 8.9 Richter scale in Japan generate a big wave train that was cal as Tsunami, the wave ruin lot of building in Japan, including house, industrial building, and public facility building.

If we look at the Tsunami disaster in Japan lot of building was flooded by Tsunami wave and some of them were moved by the wave. Today I try to find Tsunami resistant house design and Tsunami resistant building design example on the internet. I found an example Tsunami house idea which introduced by FDN Engineering. The house was designed to withstand from extreme forces including tsunami Disaster. FDN Engineering was claimed this house as Tsunami resistant building. Engineers are designing methods and techniques to design a building on columns for coastal areas where Tsunami’s can take place.
